Emma Tooth and Mam Tor

The Mam Tor Years

Back in 2005 Emma (then known as Emma Simcock-Tooth) formed part of a a ragtag band of renegade artists and writers taken under the wing of the "Mam Tor Lion" famed comic artist Liam Sharp who decided to shake up British comics from his own kitchen table, launching publishing company Mam Tor producing the groundbreaking anthology books known as Event Horizon. Book one is extremely rare and collectable now. Book Two can still be had if you know where to look, and we have a very small number of signed copies of Book 2 available at the shop.

Between 2005 - 2008 their adventures took them to Paris and Lille, as well as Bristol, Brighton, Bedford to name just a few. Emma met, worked and drank with many great comic artists including Glenn Fabry, Simon Bisley, Dave Kendal and many, many more. Emma was always dressed for the occasion and signed a few books, drew a few sketches, posed for some photos, broke a few hearts - and a good time was had by all.
