Emma Tooth's first solo show with the infamous Lazarides Gallery.

This is anticipated to be the climax of the Concilium Plebis tour and a last chance to see many of the paintings which have been kindly lent to us for one last show.

Emma is joined by costume artist The Wicked Lady who has created a number of new works reinterpreting the themes of Concilium Plebis - and even reinterpreting Emma Tooth herself!

The newly completed documentary about the work by Owen Tooth, entitled Extraordinary Portraits of Ordinary People, will also be shown in the gallery. Signed copies of the DVD and the new book, From Pig Farmers and Showgirls, will also be available from the shop!

Emma Tooth vs. Joseph Wright of Derby.

Derby Museum and Art Gallery,The Strand, DE1 1BS

This is a very, very special exhibition - 21st Century Derbyshire-based artist Emma Tooth goes head to head with 18th Century Master Joseph Wright of Derby.
A great chance to see some rarely-seen gems from the galleries' Wright archives alongside Emma's sensitive portraits of Derby "Hoodies" and "Gangsters".

Derby City Museum and Art Gallery are hosting this very special event which will see the work of these two artists painting the real people of the industrial city more than two centuries apart, with a special performance on the opening night by dance team Trinity Warriors.

With the curators at the Museum, Emma has had the opportunity to delve into the Museum's archives for material for the show which will be presented alongside her own, which promises to be a unique experience.
